What you’ll do:
The purpose of the accounting administrator is to complete all daily and ongoing bookkeeping and financial responsibilities for managed client(s).
Daily duties include:
- Manages financial operations, including monitoring cash flow, payable, and receivables.
- Interfaces with members and coordinates/attends member and shareholder meetings.
- Tracks accruals, taxes, payroll, interest, and tie cull proceeds to general ledger.
- Tracks and reconciles all pigs’ movements, inventories, expenses and income at applicable sites.
- Prepares and sends bills to members.
- Reconciles bank and loan accounts.
Skills/experience:
2-4 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience preferred, in an agricultural environment would be a plus. A proven track record of accounting accomplishment involving general ledger and account reconciliation and analysis is also required. The accounting administrator must be experienced with computers and related accounting, financial, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Performing these functions also demands the ability to work independently and with accuracy. Good communication skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective organizational skills are required. The ability to demonstrate discretion is also essential given the confidential nature of the work.
The accounting administrator must be able to operate in a professional office environment. This includes sitting for extended periods of time and using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
