Summary

The Junior Internal Auditor will perform Internal Audit tasks limited in scope under close Internal Audit management guidance including special Internal Audit administration tasks, record keeping, and reporting.  This role will operate Internal Audit IT systems, participate in Special Internal Audit projects and Kia America (KUS) Department and Business Processes studies as assigned while ensuring KUS Department and Business Processes comply with KUS Policies and Procedures. The Junior auditor will be seen as a positive/helpful Internal Audit resource for KUS Departments, Dealers and Vendors related to Internal Audit topics.

1st Performs special Internal Audit administration tasks, record keeping, and reporting. Prepares a variety of statistical reports as needed. Operates Internal Audit IT systems and generates special reports, e.g., monthly Internal Audit related Dealer Sales Incentives Reports.
Participates in Special Internal Audit projects and KUS Business Processes studies as assigned. Serves on committees and task forces as a representative of Internal Audit. Represents Internal Audit at KUS management and operations meetings related to Internal Audit topics as assigned. Responds to Internal Audit information requests from internal KUS Departments and external Dealers and Vendors.
Assists in organizing activities of Internal Audit, such as team training, team meetings and off-site team building retreats. Drafts correspondence, memos, and proposals related to Internal Audit topics as assigned. Communicates activities and seeks guidance from Internal Audit management. Handles routine Internal Audit tasks accurately.

2nd Executes and/or supports assigned audit tasks in Dealer Incentive Audits, including planning, fieldwork and reporting. 30%
3rd Executes and/or supports assigned audit tasks in Corporate Internal Audits and KUS departments, including planning, fieldwork and reporting.  20%
4th Executes and/or supports assigned audit tasks in Vendor Internal Audits, including planning, fieldwork and reporting. 10%
5th Develops Internal Auditing skills, experience and KUS operations understanding on the job. Attends Internal Audit training.  5%

 

Education/Certification

  • B.S. or Associates degree in Accounting, Business or equivalent work experience required.

Overall Experience

  • Requires a minimum of two (2) years of directly related experience.

Directly Related Experience

  • Automotive industry experience a plus.
  • Experience working at an automotive dealership a plus.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Occasional travel required domestically and/or internationally. 
  • May need to work additional hours outside of normal business hours.
