Job Overview: The purpose of this position is to support the Controller on financial
affairs including, reviewing interim financial statements and reconciling supporting
schedules. This position is also responsible for general accounting, maintaining the
organization’s overall accounting systems, procedures, and policies.
We are seeking a self-motivated individual who is analytical with strong organizational
skills. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, very comfortable in excel, and
is comfortable thinking outside of the box.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing posting process
- Performing account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of general ledger
- Researching account transactions to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Developing monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss
- statements and balance sheet
- Preparing and filing sales tax returns
- Preparing and filing recycling fee returns
- Assist in the financial management of the organization by monitoring expenses
- and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Assist in the maintenance of imaging systems
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven work experience as a bookkeeper/accountant
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures
- Proficiency using accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complexfinancial data
- BS in degree in Accounting with 1 year of experience or Associates in
- Accounting with 5 years of experience.
