Job Summary:

Responsible for the success of the total teaching/learning process within the assigned classroom, laboratory, shop, or other learning environment.

Minimum Required Education: 

·         Associate degree, certification, or a combination of expereince and education that yields the requested knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Minimum Required Experience: 

·         Preferred: Experience teaching in higher education within the instructional area being taught

·         Recent experience (last three years) in the medical assisting field or a Medical professional such as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocvation Nurse

·         EKG Monitoring

·         Ability to be detail oriented.

·         Ability to communicate orally and in writing.  Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

·         Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task with minimal supervision.   Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

·         Ability to operate a computer and other standard office equipment.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

·         Ability to think critically and apply appropriate problem-solving skills.

·         Ability to articulate and support the values and Code of Conduct of Hill College.  Ability to interpret and abide by the policies and procedures of Hill College

·         Ability to operate instructional technology including LMS systems and distance learning tools.

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information.

Essential Job Functions: 

·         Performs and carries out instruction, including careful planning of the course, preparation of lessons, meeting all scheduled classes, clearly informing students of course requirements, and fairly and impartially grading all students in accordance with the standards established by the institution.

·         Sets a high standard in academic and scholarly excellence, personal integrity, and professional ethics.

·         Conducts class discussions of subject matter within the scope of the course, the instructor's field of expertise, and professional competence.

·         Maintains familiarity with recent publications and journals and participates in local or national professional societies and meetings where appropriate.

·         Contributes to the development and review of curriculum.

·         Adheres to the course syllabi and textbooks adopted for each course.

·         Teaches classes as assigned by the appropriate.

·         Maintains work area, shops, labs, and/or equipment in safe and sound condition.

·         Submits all paperwork in an appropriate and timely manner.

·         Sedentary work; exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
