Who Are You as a Project Manager?

You are an enthusiastic, driven leader responsible for managing integrated software and hardware development projects, often centered around FPGA solutions. Your role involves handling multiple projects of varying durations and complexities, leading teams of highly educated specialists to develop smart solutions in domains such as Medical, Industry, and Mobility & Transport. Your leadership ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Management: Oversee multiple real-time embedded development projects, including cloud services.
  • Project Planning: Write, adjust, and update project plans.
  • Quality and Budget: Ensure projects meet quality standards, stay within budget, and adhere to timelines under our certified Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Team Leadership: Manage project teams, fostering high performance and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Progress Reporting: Participate in steering groups to report project progress.
  • Resource and Supplier Management: Plan resources effectively and manage suppliers.
  • Client Communication: Maintain strong communication with clients, including site visits.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of TOPIC’s QMS.
  • Leadership: Provide leadership to establish or maintain high-performance teams.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proven track record in managing (embedded) systems development projects.
  • Experience with hardware, software, and/or FPGA development; knowledge of low power design, board design, and/or Linux is a plus.
  • Familiar with Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, TDD, BDD, and/or SAFe.
  • Experience with safety-critical processes within certified environments (ISO13485) is advantageous.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, maintain a technical overview, and thrive in a dynamic, international environment.
  • Formal project management qualifications are valued.
  • Fluent in English;
  • Residing in or relocating to the Netherlands.
