This Financial Analyst role is a vital member of the Technology Finance organization that provides direct financial oversight and decision support for Texas Capital’s Technology Enterprise. This opportunity plays a key role in building and maintaining our Technology Business Management (TBM) Office and Apptio Saas application on behalf of the CIO and CFO, and providing Financial Planning & Analysis support for the Technology Finance team.
This high-profile role combines both financial planning with analytics in support of various business initiatives. The position provides opportunities to work directly with business partners and finance department leadership in identifying trends and creating forecasts. This role has a strong analytics focus and will require a self-motivated, action-oriented strategic thinker who can prioritize, communicate and collaborate to build relationships across departmental lines, and drive projects to successful completion.
Responsibilities:
Support the Technology Business Management (TBM) Office and Apptio SaaS application for the Technology organization through reporting, maintenance, and change management.
Build analytics to reduce cost in IT by locating inefficiencies. Drive business partners to solution from unit economics and benchmarking.
Establish strong financial controls and rigor of the technology procurement pipeline prioritization and delivery process
Generate and/or optimize supply and demand cycle across labor and non-labor resource channels, while also reducing and minimizing tech debt through rationalization
Be a key partner to the Technology Leadership Team; assisting in driving change to modernize client experiences while driving operational scale and ensuring technology resiliency and security
Manage financial planning, business analysis, and the monthly financial close process to inform decision making
Build Opex discipline across technology organization by incorporating iterative input from leadership, providing detailed bottoms up forecasts, and reviewing results against forecast on a consistent basis
Develop business cases to support investment decisions by determining ROI and NPV and presenting to cross-functional teams and TCB CIO
Drive to structure and lead analytical and other decision-support projects
Acquire in-depth understanding of a complex and challenging business enterprise
Requirements:
An undergraduate degree in Finance and/or Technology
Initiative to identify business questions, scope and logically structure an analysis, extract relevant insights, and communicate with a point of view
Problem solver attitude with a curious mindset
Self-motivated, results-oriented self-starter
Adept leadership skills
Ability to build relationships with, and provide thought leadership to officers of TCB
Experience thriving in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment
Experience effectively managing several work streams and projects concurrently
Superior analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong communication (written and oral) and partnering skills
Understanding of accounting principles and finance concepts such as Capex, Opex, NPV and ROI
Experience sourcing data from database applications and working efficiently with large data sets
Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint and financial modeling
Preferred:
A minimum of 1 year of related financial/business analysis and planning experience
Prior experience supporting or working in a technology organization
Prior experience working in the financial services industry
